Channel News Asia shows how a cyber incident in Singapore can be a learning lesson for other organizations globally. No less than the Ministry of Defense and more than 800 of Singapore’s honored soldiers were subject to an attack that robbed their data. After securing the system and retrieving said data, the Ministry established a Defence Cyber Organization designed to specifically protect the country’s military institution. This new group was not just defensive, but it was also pro-active in ferreting out possible threat. Threat detection and assessment has two important parts, which the Singapore government learned and is now improving on.
